CITY Lads Ladies’ FC from Nelson Mandela Bay will represent the province in the SAFA Hollywood Bets National Women’s Play-offs in Durban from December 6-12, after they defeated the Sasol League inland stream champions, Executive Ladies’ FC 5-1 in the Sasol League Provincial play-offs at Dumpy Adams Stadium in Komani on Saturday.
The Gunners’ victory comes after they were the champions of the Sasol League Coastal Stream.
Gunners have experienced players who have represented their side in the national play-offs before in the last couple of seasons.
This time around, Lads have what it takes to make the province proud.
The games which they will be playing in KwaZulu-Natal are not going to be new to Gunners.
The Nelson Mandela Bay side fully understands that the entire province has high expectations to see them finishing the play-offs as winners.
Another Nelson Mandela Bay side, Volcano Ladies, finished the league in grand style after they defeated the tough Red Roses Ladies 2-0, while Sophakama Ladies lost 4-2 on penalties to Ayakha Ladies, following the full-time 1-1 draw.
University of Fort Hare, who had a good season, also made the Sasol League Coastal Stream proud in 5-2 triumph over the Sasol League Inland Stream side, Cumakala Ladies.
