The school rugby season is drawing to a close quickly, but there are some mouthwatering clashes on Saturday to look forward to in Nelson Mandela Bay.

In Gqeberha there are very interesting matches to be hosted by Andrew Rabie, Pearson and Framesby.

Framesby will be full of confidence when they take on the strong Marlow side from Cradock. After two good away victories, first against Grey High and then Diamantveld (Kimberley), Framesby will be ready to make full use of their home advantage.

Marlow is also in good form and beat Framesby 21–19 in May, earlier this year in Cradock.

All indications are that we are in for another thrilling encounter.

With Eastern Province stars like Dempers Meyer, Burrie van Heerden, Aiden de Villiers, Leonard Booysen, MC Strydom, Francois van der Ryst (all Marlow), Sean Vermaak, Hein Terblanché and Jaco Pretorius (all Framesby) in action, this could be a spectacular clash.

There will be a festive atmosphere at Andrew Rabie who are celebrating their 70th birthday by competing against DF Malherbe in a massive sports day.

The rugby clash between the first teams will no doubt be the highlight of the festivities. Spectators can look forward to an action-packed match.

Pearson is going from strength to strength and will be in action at home against Parel Vallei. The visitors are, like Pearson, on a mission to take their rugby to a higher level and a fierce contest is expected.

It is also time for the big Kariega derby between Die Brandwag and HTS Daniel Pienaar. Both teams were on the losing side this past Saturday and would love to get this win behind their name.

This annual clash is always good spectator value, played in an electric atmosphere. Brandwag will have the home advantage this year, but based on recent results DP will kick off as the favourite to win the prestigious derby.

Grey High will play their last match of the year away from home. The Grey boys will make the trip to East London to take on Selborne College.

In their last home game this past Saturday, Grey was too strong for Muir College, winning 58–5, and could end the season on a high note.
