A Gqeberha security company employee (48) shot and killed his wife (39) in their New Brighton home on February 26.
Reporting on the incident, police spokesperson Captain Andre Beetge said that at about 09:00, the husband entered his home on Mbilini Street, proceeded to the bedroom, and shot his wife.
“He then turned the firearm on himself and shot himself as well. Both passed away on the scene,” Beetge reported.
Beetge further reported: “The 9mm firearm that he used belongs to the security company where he is employed. It was confiscated for further forensic and ballistic analysis. Cases of murder and inquest were opened and are being investigated by SAPS New Brighton,” he concluded.
