SAPS Mount Road detectives are investigating a culpable homicide case after a 25-year-old man died in a motor vehicle accident on the N2, Cotswold on Monday, October 2.
According to Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, it is alleged that at approximately 08:05, this morning, police responded to a complaint of an accident involving three vehicles and a horse and trailor truck.
“On arrival they were informed, that a Toyota Starlet was traveling on the N2 in the direction of Cape Town when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle and collided with a Toyota Hilux who then collided into a Mercedes truck,” said Janse Van Rensburg.
“The driver (25) of the Starlet succumbed to his injuries on the scene, while the driver and the passenger of the Toyota Hilux was transported to hospital for treatment,” she added.
“The driver of the truck did not sustain injuries.”
A case of culpable homicide is under investigation.
