REVEL and roll to unforgettable hits from the psychedelic 1980s at The Real ’80s Dance Party at The Boardwalk this weekend.
Party-goers will be taken on a nostalgic trip down memory lane, back to the crazy 80s, when luminous clothes and teased hair was cool. Brought to The Boardwalk by Centrestage and Algoa FM, The Real ’80s Dance Party is a three-hour party hearty music show by a stellar cast of energetic performers and musicians that will have guests reminiscing – and rocking.
Featuring Gino Fabbri, Wayne Kallis, Tara-Jane Stern, Thuba Myeki, James Smith, Hugo Kleinhans and introducing Tarryn Light, the show challenges audiences to ‘Party like it’s 1985’ and features music specially chosen to take audiences back to their youth.
The ’80s icons featured include the likes of Alphaville, Billy Idol, Blondie, Bronski Beat, Corey Hart, Dead or Alive, Depeche Mode, Bon Jovi, Huey Lewis and the News, Kim Wilde, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince, UB40, Whitney Houston and Yazoo.
Dressing to the theme is encouraged and prizes will be given away for best dressed and best dancers each night.
The Real ’80s Dance Party will take place at The Boardwalk International Conference Centre on Friday, August 23, or the weekend sessions at a special underground ’80s club, which will be created in the popular underground parking area on Friday, August 30 and Saturday, August 31.
Tickets are available at R160 per person or R140 per person in groups of eight or more.
Tickets can be booked through Computicket or by calling Wendy on 082 661 6921.
