A woman has died after she was hit by a taxi in Stanford Road yesterday afternoon, Sunday, April 10.
Rochelle Pieterson (38) was allegedly crossing the road at approximately 14:30 when the accident took place.
Police spokesperson, Capt. Sandra Janse van Rensburg, said that police responded to a complaint of an accident between Gale Road and Pienaar Street.
“On arrival, the members were informed that the deceased was with her sister and ran in front of the taxi to cross the road. The driver of the taxi was unable to stop or swerve and collided with the deceased,” she said.
A case of culpable homicide is being investigated.
