THE second round of the Town Lodge Business Night Relay returns to the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Tuesday, June 26.
As in previous years, the team to watch at this year’s series is Gamble Pharmacy.
The young Gamble team won comfortably in round one at the end of May, winning in a time of one hour and one minute over the total 17.5km course distance.
Second on the evening was the men’s team from the SPAR DC, with team Bos in third place.
In the ladies’ team event, the Investec Ladies continued their domination from last year, with another fine win, in one hour 18 minutes, ahead of SPAR DC Ladies and the teachers and staff from Woodridge College.
The event is open to running teams of five, with each member completing a 3.5km lap within the stadium precinct, making this event unique in South Africa.
A walking category is also included for teams of three walkers with the team representing Concord Cranes Group winning round one in a time of one hour 14 minutes with ETA College in second place and the Gibson family team comprising mom, dad and son in third place.
Such has been the response for this year’s series from companies and clubs that there are now fewer than 25 team entry slots remaining for Tuesday evening, so teams are urged to secure their team entry by registering online through the Zsports Events NPC website at www.zsports.co.za.
Online entries close on Monday evening.
