OK Furniture in Greenacres Shopping Centre was robbed early this morning, May 18, when the suspects surprised and overpowered a security guard at the centre.
According to police information, the incident occurred at approximately 05:50. The security guard was allegedly grabbed by five men, while they simultaneously broke the glass entrance door to the furniture outlet.
The suspects entered the store and fled with five TV sets.
Police spokesperson, Col. Priscilla Naidu, confirmed the incident but police reports refer to the outlet as OK Bazaars.
“The security guard’s cell phone was also taken. No one was injured,” Naidu said.A case of housebreaking has been opened for investigation.
