FRIENDLY City maintained seventh place in Motherwell Football Association (MOFA) First Division log table after overcoming NU 30 Future Stars 3–1 during their clash at Motherwell NU 6 Grounds, on Sunday.

Stars broke the ice after their striker, Bathabile Coko, sent a hotshot at City goalkeeper, Simamkele Saloko, in the second half. Simamkele Fundakubi initiated some good moves for Stars in the midfield. Mivuyo Namba tested City goalkeeper, Saloko, many times, but he was equal to the task. City went to the break trailing 1–0.

City equalised early in the second half following a goal by Sinekamva Mene. Masande Phothisile added a second that increased City’s lead to 2–1. Siyabulela Dzidzi Mangaliso scored the last goal of City that sealed the game at 3–1.

In another match, Seven Sundowns Sports Club restored their dignity after they handed Mojo Celtics a 4–0 defeat at Motherwell NU 6 Grounds on Sunday. Sundowns’ skipper, Indiphile Fana, scored from the penalty spot. Lathitha Hobana, Malakhiwe Meke and Anele scored a goal apiece.

Liverpool lost 2–1 to AmaXhosa, while Abathunywa registered a 6–0 defeat against Crystal Palace at Motherwell NU 6 Grounds on Sunday.
