According to Col. Priscilla Naidu, police spokesperson, the flying squad received information last week that Rodney Dudley Rippon (31) was in the Nelson Mandela Bay metro.

“A sting operation was conducted this morning when at about 10:10 he was arrested at a house in Neal Street in Sidwell. He appeared in the Gqeberha Magistrate’s Court and is remanded to 7 June to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court,” Naidu said.

A manhunt for Rippon was launched when several attempts by Bloemfontein police to locate him had failed. A warrant for his arrest was issued on 3 March 2021.

“He is currently in custody, awaiting transfer to Bloemfontein.”

Anyone who may suspect that they may be a victim to his scams is asked to contact D/W/O Robert Bookless on 076 520 4357.
