Police are investigating a case of murder involving five counts, following the discovery of five bodies with gunshot wounds inside a shack at Chris Hani informal settlement in New Brighton, Gqeberha, last night, October 22.
According to Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli, at approximately 21:30, SAPS New Brighton responded to a complaint of shooting at a shack in the Chris Hani informal settlement.
“Upon arrival, officers found the bodies of five men, all with multiple gunshot wounds. The circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation,” Nkohli explained.
The names of the deceased are being withheld until a formal identification process is completed.
Police are appealing to anyone who can assist in tracing the suspects to contact Detective Captain Sithole on 082 457 2812, Crime Stop on 08600 10111, or the nearest police station.
