THE Shatterprufe Struandale Soccer Fields were a hive of activity when the EP Industrial Soccer League Preseason knockout tournament was played on Sunday.
According to the EP Industrial League president, Sello Mokhosi, 10 teams took part in the tournament.
In round one, Aspen eliminated Purem Eberspacher 4-2, while Willard Batteries advanced to round two after they defeated Continental 5-1 on penalties as their game ended in a 1-1 draw.
Shatterprufe Struandale had the better of Benteler in their 5-3 victory.
Mpact defeated Sasko 5-1 in their one-sided game. Distell went down 4-0 to Sovereign Foods
In round two, Sovereign Foods had a bye initially, since there were only five teams left.
It was a gruelling task for Shatterprufe Struandale to advance to the next round when they secured a 2-1 win over Willard Batteries.
Aspen kissed goodbye to the tournament in their 2-0 loss to Mpact.
Sovereign Foods saw their chances to play in the finals shattering as they lost 3-1 to Shatterprufe Struandale.
The finals could not be played due poor visibility as the sun set, so Mpact and Shatterprufe decided to share the prize money equally.
Mokhosi informed PE Express that the EP Industrial Soccer League would start on June 12.
