Gqeberha police have launched a murder investigation following the shooting of a father and son at the Arlington Waste Tip on Monday, February 3.
According to police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, it is alleged that the deceased father (47) and son (26) arrived at the Arlington Waste Tip at about 11:00.
“While they were busy offloading the rubbish, the father (47) was shot while standing outside his bakkie at the driver’s side, and his son (26) was shot while still seated in the passenger seat,” said Janse van Rensburg.
She added, “The motive and the suspects are unknown, and the names of the deceased will be released once the next of kin have identified them.”
