Family desperately looking for young missing woman from Bethelsdorp

Lee-Ann Adams (20) went missing in Bethelsdorp yesterday.

The mother and aunt of 20-year-old Lee-Ann Adams haven’t slept for the past 24 hours since Lee-Ann went missing yesterday, October 2.

According to the aunt, Claudine Adams, her own 16-year-old daughter and another 13-year-old girl were walking with Lee-Ann yesterday afternoon at approximately 14:00 and taking her halfway to her brother’s girlfriend’s house in Extension 32, Bethelsdorp.

However, the brother’s girlfriend said that Lee-Ann never made it to her.

Lee-Ann’s mother, Cherylynn Adams, said that she sent her other daughter to her mother-in-law’s house last night and when the girl returned, she told her mother that her sister would be home shortly but this never happened.

“We haven’t slept at all,” a tired-looking Cherylynn said. “We have been up all night calling and texting her but her phone is off. We were awake until 04:00 this morning.”

Lee-Ann Adams hasn’t been seen since yesterday afternoon.

Claudine added that they all live in the same street in Extension 28, Bethelsdorp and had been frantically looking for Lee-Ann, to no avail.

“When we call her the connection just dies, it doesn’t even ring. I received a message from her Facebook account saying that she is okay and just needs clothes but I don’t trust it. Why would she ask me that? The account doesn’t even have a profile picture and she always has one. I think her account has been deactivated and that someone else is now using it. When I asked her where she is, the replies stopped coming,” Claudine said.

“This has never happened before. She is always inside the house and rarely goes anywhere. She doesn’t even have a boyfriend that we know of. I rather don’t want to say more because I really don’t want to start crying again,” her mother said.

The family reported Lee-Ann missing at Bethelsdorp Police Station. At approximately 16:00 this afternoon, police indicated that they were on their way to the family’s home to take statements.

Anyone with information on Lee-Ann’s whereabouts can contact Cherylynn on 064 511 1945.
