Mayen Govender, a newcomer to Gqeberha’s fishing community, landed a massive 16kg musselcracker at Kini Bay on Sunday, marking a significant milestone in his angling journey. The fish measured 99 centimetres, and catching a musselcracker had always been a dream for Govender. He is thrilled to return to fishing after spending years in Johannesburg. As Govender celebrates his catch, he remains committed to sustainable fishing practices. ‘Fishing is about more than just the thrill of the catch.
