Eastern Province showed huge fighting spirit to beat the Sharks 33-22 (26-19 halftime) at Outeniqua Park in George on Saturday, 8 July.
This meant EP remained unbeaten at this year’s u/18 Craven Week, for the first time since 2014.
EP delivered a gutsy performance in the difficult wet conditions and used their opportunities to score some spectacular tries.
At times EP was under huge pressure in the scrums and lineouts but created a lot of decisive turnovers. They also defended brilliantly, especially in the second half.

On attack EP was very accurate and scored five tries against three.
Jamaine Dampies was named as the Player of the Match, but there were many other heroes for EP in a tremendous team effort.
Dempers Meyer, Sinengomso Brawen, De Wet Fourie and Burrie van Heerden were just some of the EP stars on the day.
The EP flanker Batho Hlekani (Graeme College) was named as the Player of the Week.
