An elderly man and his wife were assaulted during an armed
robbery at a local predator park in Seaview yesterday.
An elderly man and his wife were robbed and assaulted at a predator park in Seaview yesterday.
According to police spokesperson, Capt. Sandra Janse van Rensburg,
it is alleged that the 79-year-old complainant and his wife were exiting the
predator park at approximately 10:00 when the incident occurred.
“As they neared the main gate, two suspects suddenly emerged
from the bushed armed with a knife and firearm,” Janse van Rensburg explained. “The
complainant was forced to stop. They were also assaulted by the suspects. The
suspects took cash and cell phones and fled on foot into the bushes,” she said.
A case of armed robbery is under investigation by Kabega
Park detectives.
