Dry and extremely hot conditions are expected over
parts of the province, which will result in a heatwave with persistently high
temperatures over the northern parts of Sarah Baartman DM, Chris Hani DM as
well as Raymond Mhlaba and Amathlati LM from today until Thursday 1 February.
The severe weather conditions present a significant risk of dehydration, heat exhaustion, and potential heat strokes.
The public are advised to keep the body cool by wearing
light clothes, drink lots of fluids and stay in shaded areas.
Avoid being in
the sun for prolonged period of time, and try to avoid strenuous outside work.
