Renowed jazz artist and radio personality, Dumza Maswana, is gearing up for a special event that promises to be both a celebration of his birthday and a heartfelt gesture of giving back to the community.
In a unique blend of artistry and philanthropy, Maswana is hosting a charity show featuring performances by Legato, his friends from Gqeberha, all in support of a noble cause.
The event, set to take place on Sunday, April 14, at The Music Kitchen in Newton Park, will serve as a platform for spreading joy and making a positive impact. With Legato on board to provide soulful melodies and captivating tunes, attendees are in for a treat that transcends mere entertainment.

Maswana and Legato, as well as other artists who will deliver performances, have been preparing a repertoire of songs, including an a cappella version of Maswana’s Molo, that promise to uplift spirits and touch hearts. From soul-stirring ballads to foot-tapping rhythms, the musical journey they have crafted is one that promises something for everyone.
Beyond the melodies and rhythms lies a deeper purpose. Proceeds from the event will go towards a cause close to Maswana’s heart. In the spirit of giving back, all participating musicians are requested to contribute a nominal fee of R120, along with donations of food, clothing items, and instruments. Guests are also encouraged to bring along any items they would like to donate. These contributions will directly benefit a local children’s home, amplifying the impact of this celebratory event.
