He was

aggravating, five years for theft, five years for each for eight other
housebreaking cases committed between March – September 2018, totalling 40

on April 15, 2021, Naidu added.

Provincial
Commissioner, Lt Gen Liziwe Ntshinga welcomed the sentencing and praised both
the investigating officer as well as the prosecuting authority.

“There must not
be any mercy for criminals who attack defenceless and innocent women. A
criminal, like Jika showed no remorse for his actions as he continued in a
space of 3 months with his brutal attacks. These convictions are a resultant of
hard work, thorough investigation and dedication by an array of departments
working together to ensure that the State had, once again a watertight case
against him,” Ntshinga said.
