Students and staff of The IIE’s Varsity College Nelson Mandela Bay, with staff from Heatherbank Primary School, celebrated the campus’s recent donation of gently worn sports bras and other bras, as well as sanitary towels, to the Grade 4 – 7 girls of Heatherbank Primary School in Theescombe.

The campus’s School of Education, in collaboration with its student volunteer body, VC Cares Committee, gathered the items with the help of students, staff and lecturers over a period of three months.

“As a woman, I feel most confident when I am comfortable and supported,” said Mishale Futcher, a Grade 7 educator. “Due to the gracious donations by The IIE’s Varsity College Nelson Mandela Bay, our young girls will feel confident with themselves and their bodies which will encourage them to become more involved in sporting activities and Physical Education throughout their school day.”
