Ladies’ Nite-Out: The North Event Centre in Bloemendal will host Ladies’ Nite-Out on Friday (free before 21:00). On Saturday, 20 August it is Cecelia’s fund-raiser with old school music by DJ Ash ‘he Bash (entry is R30), and on Sunday, it’s bring and braai with soul and jazz for the matured. Decades party: The Music Kitchen will host a decades party with all the hits from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and 00’s, featuring DJ Duncan Crisp. Doors open at 18:00 and the party starts at 19:00. Tickets cost R50 on Quicket or R70 at the door. Food and bar is available.
27 August
Park and align: Polo Nation presents a park and align at Supaquick Overbaakens from 09:00 to 17:00. Get your alignment done and receive a free wors roll courtesy of Supaquick Overbaakens. When purchasing your park and align ticket, you could stand a chance to win a R2 000 Supaquick voucher or a one-night stay for two people at The Paxton Hotel. Lucky draws will be done at 11:00 and 14:00. Tickets are R180 – limited tickets available until 26 August. 80’s Disco: Magnetic Storm is celebrating their 40th birthday with an 80’s Disco from 19:00 at the Hellenic Hall. Tickets cost R100 and can be purchased on Quicket.
Boot Sale: Westway Bethel Community Church, 7 Woltemade Street, Kabega Park, will have their very first boot sale from 07:00 to 12:00. Saturday Market: African Sky’s Venue will host their monthly market from 12:00 to 16:00 at 120 Nassau Avenue, Theescombe. There will be live music, great food and entertainment for the little ones.
Beach Clean-up: The Algoa Bay Branch of WESSA and Zwartkops Conservancy will join forces for a beach clean-up at Bluewater Bay swimming beach from 09:30 to 10:30. To get there, driving from the city side along the N2, take the Bluewater Bay off-ramp and then turn right at the stop sign where it meets with Weinronk Way. Drive straight to the end and then into the swimming beach parking area. They will supply bags. Remember to bring a hat, sunscreen, water and gloves if possible.
