Night Market: African Sky’s Venue Night Market will take place on Friday, November 29 from 17:00 to 21:00 at 120 Nassau Street, Theescombe. Meet Jack Sparrow and join the treasure hunt. Clothing Sale: Walmer Methodist Church’s next “As Good As New” monthly clothing sale will take place at their premises, 83 Main Road, Walmer, on Friday, November 29 from 11:00 to 14:00. Everything less 40% for their last sale of the year! Men’s, ladies’ and children’s brand-name clothing and shoes will be available.

Christmas Picnic and Market: In a joint venture with Mowbray NG Kerk, the Newton Park SCF will host a community picnic at the Newton Park Primary sports field on November 30, from 14:00 to 20:00. Bring your baskets, blankets, family and friends. There will be food, vendors, a jumping castle, a visit from Santa and more. Tickets for the Christmas Raffle are available from Glen Hurd Supermarket, Mowarama, the Toy Museum in Worraker Street, Nautical Sports in Shirley Street, Percy at Newton Park Primary. A Christmas Market – Weihnachtsmarkt: The market will be held at the Lutheran Church in Springfield on Saturday, November 30, from 09:30. Continental coffee, cakes, Christmas stollen, and other delicious eats, drinks, crafted Christmas gifts, mosaics, and decorations will be on sale. There will also be a white elephant stall, a raffle, children’s activities, and a jumping castle.

Boot Sale: The Knights of Da Gama are holding their monthly boot sale on Saturday morning, November 30 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Grounds in Cape Road, Kabega Park. Site cost is R60. Residents’ Christmas Market: The market at Walton Park Retirement Village (gate no. 2) will take place on Saturday, November 30 from 09:00. There will be Christmas cakes, mince pies, Christmas crackers and decorations, arts, crafts and more, and a coffee shop too.

Market Day: St Peter’s Congregational Church, Walter Road, Charlo, will have its monthly event on Saturday, November 30 until 13:00. Free entry to the public from 09:00. Stall rental is R50. Santa’s This Way: Find The Original Christmas Shop in their new home at Walker Drive Shopping Centre. They will be hosting Santa in Store on Saturday, November 30, from 10:00 to 14:00 and Sunday, December 1 from 10:00 to 13:00. Take your own photos, just give a donation toward Hospice, their charity of choice. The Original Christmas Shop is next to Pick n Pay clothing. The HalaalSoukPE: The indoor market will take place at the Malabar Community Centre on Sunday, December 1, and run from 10:00 to 17:00. Candlelighting: The Compassionate Friends – Child Loss Support Group will be having their yearly candlelighting on December 6 in memory of their babies/children who have passed. The event will take place at the Lorraine Full Gospel Church on the corner of Luneville and Van Eck Street, Lorraine. A light snack, beverage, a candle and a programme for the evening will be provided. There will be a special guest speaker. Entry is free for members. Non-members will be asked for a donation of R50. Craft, Hobbies and Toy Fair: The fair will take place at Walmer Town Hall, Main Road Walmer, on December 7, from 08:30 to 13:00. There will be loads of craft stalls, dolls, bears and a collectable model car display. There is tea, coffee and goodies to eat. Entrance is R5. Proceeds go to Save-a-Pet.

Morning Market: St Saviour’s Church will have a morning market of pre-loved goods on Saturday, December 7. There will be something for everyone including cutlery, glassware, household goods, sports goods, books, toys and kitchen utensils. Enjoy the carnival atmosphere. Sacred Heart Christmas Market: The Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 512 Cape Road, Kabega, will host a Christmas market on Saturday, December 21 from 09:00 to 14:00. The R10 entrance fee enters you into a raffle to win one of three Baywest Vouchers – R1 500, R1 000 or R500. Free entry for kids under 12. Old Year’s Night Dance: The dance will take place on Tuesday, December 31 at the Gordon Loyson Memorial Hall in Jade Road, Morningside (behind St Francis Xavier Anglican Church building) from 20:30 to 12:30am on January 1. Gqeberha Central Men’s Shed: They meet every Wednesday from 10:00 to 12:00 at The Athenaeum, Athol Fugard Terrace (Belmont Terrace), between Castle Hill and Military Road, opposite the Supreme Court. A men’s shed is a space where men can relax, get together to talk, work together, have a cup of coffee, and make friends. All ages are welcome.
