Genealogical Society of SA: This is a family history research group. The next meeting will be on Thursday, July 18, at 14:30 for 15:00 in the Lolly Shtein Hall at Laubscher Park West, end of Villiers Road. Ken Munro will speak of the secret life of Temporary Captain Agnes Paton Martin, MBE.

Mini Bazaar/Market Day: St Peter’s Congregational Church, Walter Road, Charlo, will have their monthly mini bazaar on Saturday, July 20, from 08:00. Pre-loved clothing, cakes, pancakes, bacon and egg rolls, and boerewors rolls, bric-a-brac, and refreshments will be sold. Contact Revd Norman at 084 474 2260.

African Sky’s Venue Market: The market will be held on July 20 from 10:00 to 15:00 a Harry Potter-themed market. Entrance is free for everyone. Cosplay is welcome. There will also be stalls, food trucks, and live music by Claire Venn.

Boot Sale: The Forest Hill community will have a boot sale at Clover Crescent, Forest Hill (open ground by Donkin Hospital), on July 21 from 07:00 to 13:00. Contact Ian at 081 468 5077.

Craft Market/Book Sale: The Linton Grange Library will have a craft market and mini book sale on July 25 from 09:00 to 15:00, and on July 26 from 09:00 to 13:00.

Cash Bingo: A cash bingo will be held at Sanctor High School on July 27 at 14:00. The cost is R200 for three playing cards. Contact 076 837 4968 for tickets.

Family Festival: The festival will take place at King’s Court on Saturday, July 27, from 09:00 to 14:00. Entry is free to the public. Guests can expect exhibitors from antenatal classes and clinic, to pregnancy massage, chiropractor, daycare, baby accessories, developmental stimulation classes, books, jumping castle, facepainting, nappies, medical services, and much more. The chosen charity of the day is Zanethemba Charity Foundation.

Men’s Breakfast: St Saviour’s Church will host a men’s breakfast with guest speaker, Andrew Johnson, from “Rugby for Jesus”, at St Saviour’s Church, 2 Villiers Road, Walmer, on Saturday, July 27, from 08:00. Andrew will give a testimony on the impact provincial rugby and school rugby has on influencing the lives of men in the province. Tickets are R100 per person. Contact Dacre at 071 214 0997.

Book Sale: The Linton Grange Library will have a book sale on August 3, from 08:00 to 12:00. Book donations are welcome.

Gqeberha Central Men’s Shed: They meet every Wednesday from 10:00 to 12:00 at the Athenaeum, Athol Fugard Terrace (Belmont Terrace) between Castle Hill and Military Road, opposite the Supreme Court. A men’s shed is a space where men can relax, get together to talk, work together, have a cup of coffee, and create friends. All ages are welcome. Hi’s Place Developing Centre: They have a church service every Sunday at 09:00. Every first and third Saturday of the month they also have a healing service at 17:00. The next healing service will be on July 20. All are welcome. It’s an open meeting to all sick people and those with problems who need prayer.
