Gqeberha Central Men’s Shed: They will visit the Missionvale Care Centre on a site visit on Wednesday, July 3, looking at the possibility of starting a project at the centre and to eventually establish a men’s shed to serve the community. All are welcome to attend. Meet at the Athenaeum at 10:00 and travel with the group or meet at the Missionvale Care Centre at 10:30. SANTA PE AGM: SANTA PE’s 75th annual general meeting will take place in the Mater Dei Catholic Church hall in Cape Road, on July 3 at 14:00. The guest speaker is Mary Ngodwana of the Isango Lethemba TB Research Unit (Witshealth). All friends of SANTA PE and those interested in the advancement of TB treatment are most welcome. Yard Sale: Parsons Hill Neighbourhood Yard Sale will take place on July 6, from 11:00 to 16:00 at Van Niekerk Street, Parsons Hill. Houses will be marked with bright bunting. Clothes, books, household goods and furniture will be sold.
Craft, Hobbies and Toy Fair: The fair takes place on Saturday, July 6, from 08:30 to 13:00 at the Walmer Town Hall, Main Road, Walmer. There will be loads of craft stalls, dolls, bears, beautiful painted pictures, and a collectible model car display. There will be tea, coffee, and lovely goodies to eat. Entry is R5. Proceeds will go to Save-a-Pet.
Boot Sale: Save-A-Pet will have its monthly boot sale at the Elephant Walk Restaurant car park in Colleen Glen on Saturday, July 6. Sellers set up at 06:00 at R50 per vehicle. Shopping starts at 08:00. The restaurant/bar and farm shop will be open. For more info contact Gwen at 082 692 2222.
Windsong Bohemian Market: Join the tribe at the Windsong Bohemian Market on Saturday, July 6, at The Green at Holmeleigh Farm, Grey Dawn Road, Theescombe, from 09:30 to 14:00. Enjoy varied bohemian, gypsy, hippie, esoteric, holistic, and whimsical stalls and food trucks. The kids will be entertained by a face painter, sand art, and pony rides. Entrance is free. Art in the Park: A market will be held on Sunday, July 7 at St George’s Park, Central from 09:00 to 13:00. The market due to be held on June 30 was postponed. There will be craft, art, food, and bric-a-brac, as well as live music. Stalls are free to children and charities. Children are encouraged to bring along unwanted toys, books and craft work to sell. Re-Seconds Market: The market will take place at Londt Park Sports Club on Sunday, July 7, weather permitting, from 09:00 to 14:00. Eastern Province Bonsai Society: A bonsai meeting will be held on July 13 at the Methodist Church hall on the corner of Newton Street and 3rd Avenue from 11:00. Sally Saunders and Edward Kieck will be the demo masters. Prep work for Spring on dormancy trees, pines and deciduous trees, sharpening and cleaning of tools, and a hands-on workshop.
