Arnold Terblanche, accused of orchestrating the murder of his estranged wife, Vicki Terblanche, made a brief appearance at the Gqeberha High Court today, May 31.
The case has been postponed to June 10.
During today’s proceedings, Terblanche’s legal representative, Peter Dauberman, requested further particulars from the state regarding their case against Terblanche. This was refused by state advocate, Marius Stander.
Both parties are set to return on June 7 to present their arguments to the judge. The state will explain their refusal to provide the requested particulars, and Dauberman will argue why this information is necessary for the defense.
Reinhardt Leach, Vicki Terblanche’s boyfriend at the time, has maintained his intention to apply for bail. This was not addressed in today’s court proceedings.
As previously reported by PE Express, Leach has been in custody since October 2021, when Vicki’s body was discovered in a shallow grave in Greenbushes, on the outskirts of Gqeberha. Vicki was allegedly drugged, suffocated, or strangled.
Their former co-accused, Dylan Cullis, was sentenced to 18 years in prison after pleading guilty in March of last year.
