Dear Editor
IT was a great surprise on January 31 when I heard weed-eaters outside my home in Springfield Road.
Upon investigating, I saw the workers busy mowing the grass in the park about which I threw my toys out of the cot (by writing a letter to the Weekend Post of January 29, “Are we going back to the jungle?”).
More gratifying was the fact that the Ward 6 Councillor, Gert Engelbrecht, was present to ensure that the contractor, paid to mow the grass, was performing the job. I therefore wish to sincerely thank Councillor Engelbrecht for this long-overdue service delivery.
I personally thanked Councillor Engelbrecht for his diligence, and for not throwing in the towel.
(Please note that Gert Engelbrecht and I are not related).
Japie Engelbrecht
