COSELELANI Senior Secondary School held an end-of-the-school-sport-season function, to honour their players and athletes, at the school on October 19.
All the players and athletes of Coselelani SSS who participated in athletics, chess, netball, rugby and soccer during the 2022 season, received certificates but the outstanding players went home with trophies.
The school rugby coach, Mthuthuzeli Yoyo, stated his school’s players and athletes showed character and dedication during the season.
Yoyo said, “Our players and athletes put our school’s flag on the map. They made us very proud during this season. Basically, all our athletes deserve accolades.”
The school deputy principal, Nomfanelo Qaba-Makeleni, said that “sport helps to keep children off the street.” Qaba-Makeleni said, “Sport keeps our learners busy. It also promotes healthy living style. The child in sport is the child out of court. Our players have displayed high levels of discipline on and off the field of play.”
The school principal, Langa Tshangana, thanked the parents, players, teachers and coaches for putting the flag of his school on the map. Tshangana said, “Today, I am a happy man because our school takes sport seriously.
“Our school’s parents, learners, coaches and the entire staff were supportive during the season. I would like to thank our community rugby coach, Rev. Lumkile Tete, for dedicating his time for our rugby players, despite his busy schedule. Our school stakeholders did not give up even though our school has very limited financial resources.
