ATLANTIC Aces Athletics Club invites schools, clubs and members of the public to join their mini-athletics meeting at Booysen Park Primary School on Saturday.
According to the club founder and chairman, Derrick Hoshe, the event will start at 09:00.
Hoshe indicated that the local schools and other community-based organisations had already confirmed that they would participate during the meeting.
“The club’s prime objective is to promote athletics amongst junior kids, a healthy lifestyle, and bring junior sport and in particular athletics back into primary schools. We are based in Varsvlei in Sanctor, a Northern Areas suburb where we conduct coaching programmes.
Now we have decided to promote social cohesion by running this programme where all members are invited to take part in this programme, free of charge,” said Hoshe.
The athletics programme, which focuses mainly on track events, will cater for u/8 athletes through to the masters. Breakfast will be served to all athletes who participate.
