THE IIE’s Varsity College Port Elizabeth’s staff and students recently held a pasta and porridge drive to help feed the children at the Kids of Tomorrow non-profit organisation.

Kids of Tomorrow relies on donations to provide these children with at least two meals a day. Many of the children’s families have lost their jobs and cannot afford food.

Belinda Wolff, director of Kids of Tomorrow, said, “Thank you to everyone who so generously donated towards the pasta and porridge drive. It will be hugely appreciated by the teachers and I know what a difference you have made to the children.

“For many of the children in the townships their only hot meal of the day is the meal they get at the school so this will really help to keep the tummies full at school.”

Paul Manson, The IIE’s Varsity College PE’s campus head, said they believe that it is important to be aware of what is happening in and needed by their surrounding communities.

“We wanted to support not only the children, but also the staff at the Kids of Tomorrow, who do wonderful work to ensure that these children get a solid foundation in education. We can always count on our staff and students to get involved in initiatives such as this pasta and porridge drive, and work together towards making a difference.”
