Cause of aircraft’s emergency landing in Algoa Park is not yet known

The cause of the emergency landing of a Piper Lance 2 aircraft on Ysterhout Street in Algoa Park today, September 5, is not yet known.

Eastern Cape Department of Transport spokesperson, Unathi Binqose, confirmed that the pilot and two passengers, all male, were taken to hospital.

According to Binqose, the details of the cause of the incident are still sketchy at this stage. “We are grateful that there was no loss of life,” Binqose stated.

“Our rapid response teams are on the scene ensuring that the aircraft is removed safely.”
