Police are on the hunt for approximately 10 to 15 suspects after a brazen robbery of a cash in transit vehicle took place at a local shopping centre this morning, 2 July.
According to Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, police spokesperson, it is alleged that at approximately 05:15 this morning the cash in transit vehicle was stationary at a shopping centre in Gelvandale.
“As the two guards got out of the vehicle they were confronted by approximately 10 to 15 armed suspects. An undisclosed amount of cash and the guards’ firearms were taken. The suspects fled in numerous vehicles from the crime scene,” Janse van Rensburg said.
A case of armed robbery was opened and the investigation is ongoing.
