FANS were treated to a high quality football encounter when Camper United shared a 1-1 draw with Madibaz Football, during their SAFA Nelson Mandela Bay SAB Regional League clash, at Motherwell NU 2 Stadium on Saturday.

Madibaz were like a house on fire but Camper were also ready for a big showdown. The tempo of the game was very fast from the word go. The home side nearly scored the opening goal but their left wing, Lukhanyo Dumezweni’s efforts went wide. The NMU side fought tirelessly but the hosts’ goalkeeper, Mbonisi Mbele, showed his class.

The hard work of Madibaz paid dividends as Siyanda Mbuthuma registered a spectacular goal. Camper did not give up hope, as they kept on attacking.

Siyabulela Tsewana scored a goal from the penalty spot to level the matters at 1-1. Dumezweni tried to squeeze the ball into the back of net but the upright denied him, with the goalkeeper well beaten.

The visitors could have scored a second goal but Mbuthuma’s shot was also saved by the upright.
