Caitlyn Venter of St Dominic’s Priory School came eighth in this year’s National English Olympiad. Of the 5 700 candidates who wrote the paper this year, Venter was the only candidate from the Eastern Cape in the top 15. As part of her prize, Venter attended the 2019 National Schools Festival in Grahamstown (Makhanda) from June 25-30, courtesy of the English Olympiad. In addition, she also won a cash prize, along with a free tuition scholarship for her first year of study at Rhodes University. photo:SUPPLIED
