THE Businesswomen’s Association (BWA) Port Elizabeth announced the top six women in business in Nelson Mandela Bay at the annual BWA Investec 2018 Regional Business Achievers Awards (RBAA), hosted at the Boardwalk Hotel and Convention Centre last week Thursday, June 21.
The prestigious competition annually seeks to acknowledge excellence in the business, corporate, professional and social arenas. A celebration of women in business in Nelson Mandela Bay, the BWA Investec RBAA, recognises businesswomen who have achieved noteworthy milestones in their careers.
The winners in each category are pioneers in their respective fields, coming from diverse industries but sharing the same drive and passion to be the best in the business.
The BWA Investec RBAA selection process was audited and overseen by an independent panel of judges. The judges are made up of a broad cross section of Nelson Mandela Bay leaders who interviewed and selected a winner in each of the six categories.
Congratulating the winners, BWA Port Elizabeth chairperson, Heather Dutton, said it had been an honour walking this road with them.
“We are exceptionally proud of all the finalists. Thank you to each and every one of you for being amazing ambassadors for our brand throughout the RBAA process. You can be incredibly proud of what you have achieved. Shine and enjoy this time,” Dutton said.
Selected from a pool of 18 finalists, the 2018 category winners are:
- Emerging entrepreneur: Melissa Palmer (B and E Conference Centre).
- Entrepreneur: Noleen Acton (Kowie Toyota).
- Social entrepreneur: Linda van Oudheusden (Missionvale Care Centre).
- Professional: Samantha Streak (Port Elizabeth Montessori School)
