ADDO-BASED side, Bush Pirates, suffered a disappointing 1-0 loss to Bush Bucks in their ABC Motsepe League game at Motherwell NU 2 Stadium on October 5.
Pirates started the game with their star midfielder, Oscar Potsana, creating clear-cut chances. Pirates pursued for an opening goal but their forwards were not composed in front of the goals.
Chris Vena could have scored a goal for ‘The Ghosts’, but Bucks goalkeeper, Simfumene Mene, was equal to the task.
The first half ended with the home team having more ball possession.
The fans saw Bucks attacking in the start of the second half. Midfielders Freddie Hlalele and Lukhanyo Fali read each other like an open book. Pirates also did not let down their supporters, who travelled all the way from Addo. Vena tormented the Bucks’ defenders.
Aviwe Nomfenge received a second yellow card, after he kicked Vena and he was given marching orders.
Bucks did not give up, but scored a goal from a penalty, thanks to Mihlali Ntombini, in the 60th minute, following a handball inside the penalty area by one of Pirates’ defenders.
Pirates replied strongly, but Siphosethu Seti unleashed a powerful shot that Bucks goalkeeper Mene finger tipped over the goalposts.
The game was an attractive affair, as both sides showed a lot of flair.
