Bethelsdorp detectives are seeking the community’s
assistance in identifying and tracing the next-of-kin of a teenager found
murdered last night (Friday).

The body of an unidentified teenager was found in Bethelsdorp last night.

According to information received, police responded to a
complaint of a body in the bushes between Kroneberg Street in Extension 21 and
Hibiscus Street, Extension 31 at approximately 20:00. The body of the
19-year-old male was found with multiple gunshot wounds to the head. He is not
known by residents in that area.

Police spokesperson, Col. Priscilla Naidu, said that the
teenager was dressed in a green check pyjama pants, red and navy Fila tracksuit jacket, a Redbat golf T-shirt, black Dakota shoes and a blue surgical mask. “The
circumstances surrounding his death is unknown at this stage and suspects are
also unknown,” she added.

Anyone able to assist police in identifying the teenager or
may know his next-of-kin is asked to contact D/W/O Johnny Du Toit at the Bethelsdorp
police station on 082 442 1667 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111. They can also
visit their nearest police station.
