Gqeberha police are investigating the murder of a 12-year-old girl whose body was found near bushes in Bethelsdorp earlier today.
The discovery comes weeks after the charred remains of Lithaliyanda Ntoni from Motherwell, also 12, were discovered on June 27.
In the latest incident, at around 12:45 today, police were called to Extension 31 in Bethelsdorp when they found the body.
“According to preliminary reports at approximately 12:45 today, SAPS Bethelsdorp responded to a complaint at a bushy area,” said police spokesman Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg**.**
“On arrival they found the body of a 12-year-old girl with visible injuries. At this stage the cause of death is unknown and will be determined during the postmortem.”
“No further information is available, and the motive and suspect(s) are unknown.”
The name of the deceased will be released once the body has been identified.
