The body of an unidentified person was found in the boot of a burnt car yesterday, December 14, in New Brighton.
Due to the burnt state of the body, the person’s race, age and gender cannot be determined.
Police spokesperson, Col. Priscilla Naidu, said that at about 14:35, police were alerted to a murder in Stofile Street. “On arrival, police found a burnt out vehicle with a body in the boot of the vehicle, a Toyota Etios without any registration plates,” she said.
Police are appealing to anyone who may know of a person that is missing and has since not returned home or anyone that can assist in the investigation, to contact SAPS New Brighton’s D/Lt. Col.
