SAPS Algoa Park is seeking the community’s assistance in tracing the next-of-kin of a man that was found in Kempston Road at the weekend after he hanged himself.

Police spokesperson, Capt. Sandra Janse van Rensburg, said that on Saturday at approximately 16:00, police responded to a complaint in Kempston Road. Upon arrival they found the body of a man who hanged himself.

“The police are unable to confirm the identity of the deceased. He is an African male aged between 40 and 45 years and was wearing a blue jacket and grey trousers without shoes,” Janse van Rensburg said. 

An inquest docket has been opened and is under investigation. Anyone who can assist in tracing the family of the person or may be able to confirm the identify of the deceased, is asked to contact SAPS Algoa Park D/Sgt. Mxolisi Baartman on 082 930 5440/041 409 1022 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111. They can also visit the nearest police station or send information via the MYSAPSAPP.
