THE Algoa Motorsport Club will be hosting round four of the EP Regional Championships at the Aldo Scribante Circuit this Saturday.
The programme includes EP regional saloons, EP sport and GT cars; AMSC Coastal Challenge, street and fine cars, as well as club motorcycles.
The club’s local motorcycle racers will have the opportunity to pit their skills against several national riders who are competing on the day to practice for the Port Elizabeth round of the SuperGP Championships, which are due to be held at the Aldo Scribante Circuit in August.
Up front in the modified saloons will be a great battle as always with the Scribante family of Celso and Aldo, in their Audis, fighting off Nick Davidson.
This month’s event has been billed as the Jason Joshua Memorial Race Day and it marks just over a month since fellow club member Jason Joshua tragically lost his life.
There will be an honour lap around the circuit during the lunch break in his memory.
The procession will be lead and followed by medics with lights and sirens blazing, as Jason was a qualified paramedic.
Everyone who would like to join in honouring Jason’s memory is welcome.
However, minimum safety requirements apply as follows: Bike riders should wear long pants, closed shoes or boots, a jacket, gloves and a helmet.
Gates open at 08:00 for spectators at R30 per person and children under the age of 12 can enter the race circuit free of charge.
There will be catering caravans on site in the food court, as well as a bar and braai facility.
