THE Sunridge Superspar/Bukani Print Big Tree training runs, which help participants prepare for the Two Oceans, Comrades and Ironman starts this Saturday, February 8.

With distances ranging from 20km to 38km, the runs were started by Alan Taylor decades ago.

There is no entry fee but participants must donate R40 which goes towards the Rotary Club and the Rotary Foundation.

Slower runners start at 04:45 while the rest will start at 05:15.

Participants are urged to stick to the starting times, otherwise it makes it difficult for volunteers manning the watering points to get to the next point in time.

This week the run is over 27km.

Runners will start at the Fig Tree Park, William Moffett and run towards Builders Warehouse, turning right into Buffelsfontein Road.

They will then run through Mount Pleasant towards Seaview. Once past the Bushy Park entrance where the road narrows runners will turn back and follow the same route back to the start.
