BEACON Bay resident Vincent Nene made a huge difference after he bought a brand-new soccer kit for his hometown side Everton FC recently.
Nene informed PE Express that he was approached by Everton FC president Mzikayise Quntu some time ago, to help his side after he told him about his side’s needs.
Nene explained, “I grew up in Zwide more than 30 years ago, where Everton FC is based. I know fully the humbling beginning of Everton FC but I was not involved with them. Subsequently, I decided to sponsor Everton FC with a brand-new full set of kit. Some members of my church New Apostolic Church and I bought this kit for Everton FC.”
Nene also stated that he would stretch his helpful hand to Everton FC when the need arises in the future.
“It is my intention to support this club when the need arises in the near future. I would like to say ‘hats off’ to Mr Quntu for keeping our children busy in sport,” concluded Nene.
Everton FC president Quntu expressed his gratitude to Nene and his church for coming to his team’s rescue.
“All I can say to Nene and his church that our club expresses their sincere gratitude to them, following the donation of the new kit that they have made possible to Everton FC. I wish that God keeps on blessing Vincent and his church members because their contribution has motivated our boys. These people have helped our club,” said Quntu.
