PEOPLE from diverse cultures and traditions have long told undocumented stories about how deeply connected human beings are to the ocean.
In the process of redeveloping the Bayworld and Happy Valley Precinct, the Mandela Bay Development Agency (MBDA) and Bayworld are calling all citizens of Nelson Mandela Bay to share an interesting story of their connection with the sea.
“We are looking for unique and interesting cultural connections that different ethnicities have with the ocean,” said MBDA spokesperson, Bulali Dyakopu.
“These stories will be part of a Bayworld documentary that will capture people’s diverse cultural connection or disconnection with the sea and the sea creatures.”
To enter and be part of this historic moment, readers can upload a 30-second video on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, sharing how they are connected to the sea, using the hashtags: #TheOceanAndI #BayworldStories.
The five best stories will win a cash reward of R2 500 each and will form part of a documentary that will be part of the permanent digital content for Bayworld.
