CHANTAL Moodaley, a Port Elizabeth-based mother, recently launched her first children’s book. The book, titled Old Testament Stories, contains well-known Old Testament stories from the Bible.

The beautifully illustrated book contains a section with morals from each story and a promise for the reader to make after finishing each chapter.

Moodaley said the idea for the book was born more than five years ago.

“What makes the book so special is that the illustrator is a 14-year-old boy named Daniel Padayachey. The cover of the book is made from a colourful collage of his drawings from the stories,” a visibly excited Moodaley said.

She described how books for children of this quality were very expensive and only accessible through municipal libraries.

“The aim was also to publish a book that was affordable, yet of the highest quality that would sell in any good bookshop.”

“This book is just one practical way of keeping our children out of harm’s way,” she said.

The book is available at R80. Interested readers or schools can email Chantal on biblestoriesforkidz@gmail.com
