IT’S an art lover’s dream again this week as the annual Art Meander approaches.
This year’s event will start off tomorrow, October 24, with a music evening. The Armchair Sessions at Art on Target will present well-known local musos Lelane Souverijn, Joe van der Linden and Graham Beyer, who are collaborating for an eclectic mix of music from the roots of Africa all the way to the Mississippi Delta.
Souverijn is a singer and ceramic designer; Van der Linden is a multitalented guitarist and bassist, while Beyer has music exam certificates in trumpet, tenor saxophone, trombone, French horn, piano, violin and voice.
The show promises to be a real treat.
Maps for the Art Meander weekend can also be purchased at this event. The music evening will start at 19:30.
Entry is R100 per person. Bookings can be made with Angela at 084 623 5491.
The Art Meander will then take place on Friday, October 25, from 13:00 to 16:00, and Saturday and Sunday, October 26 and 27, from 09:00 to 16:00.
Patrons can once again follow the map to various locations where artists will be displaying and selling their work. Some of the artists will be working on projects, and demos will be held throughout the weekend as well.
Maps, which are R40 each, can be purchased at Art on Target, Angel Wings Ceramic Studio in Baakens Valley, Periwinkle Studio in Marine Drive and 16 Nobbs Road in Summerstrand.
