Arnold Terblanche was once again been denied bail in the Gqeberha Magistrate’s Court on Monday morning.
Terblanche, who is accused of being the mastermind behind his estranged wife, Vicki Terblanche’s murder in October last year, has been trying to get bail since his arrest in November 2021, to no avail.
This is Terblanche’s second bid for bail. His first application was denied in January this year and his appeal against the ruling was also dismissed by the Gqeberha High Court in March 2022.
Last month, his legal team applied for bail once again, stating that they were in possession of “new” facts pertaining to the case.
This morning, Magistrate Kriban Pillay ruled that the application does not constitute new facts and dismissed the application. According to Pillay, some of this information given as “new” facts, were already available during the first bail application.
The matter has been postponed to July 12 for further investigation.
Terblanche and his co-accused, Vicki’s boyfriend Reinhardt Leach and Dylan Cullis, are facing several charges related to Vicki’s death.
Her body was found in a shallow grave in Greenbushes in October last year. The location of the body was pointed out to police by Cullis.
Vicki was 42-years old at the time of her death and the mother of Arnold’s 12-year-old son.
