WITHIN the first week of their annual Winter Woolly Drive, Community Chest had received their first big donation from Pearson High School.

“We experienced inclement weather the past few days and Community Chest is appealing to the public, corporates and schools to participate in this important drive,” said Community Chest PRO Colette Theron.

With this donation in hand, the team took a trip to Walmer Township on June 11 to lend a helping hand to the residents affected by the recent fire. They were able to hand out blankets, clothing and food to the residents.

The drive will continue until the end of August and donations will be distributed to over 200 projects throughout the metro. Cash donations are also welcome as Community Chest supports various soup kitchens.

Drop-off points for donations are at various selected SPAR stores throughout the Eastern Cape. Donations can also be delivered to their office, at 126 2nd Avenue, Newton Park. Alternatively, contact them at 041 582 1592 for collection.
