THE Algoa Rally Club will be hosting its National Rally Championship in Port Elizabeth on Friday, July 6 and Saturday, July 7.
Most of the spectator points will be held at Baywest’s entrance 4, Jagtvlackte in Uitenhage and Longmore Forest on Saturday, July 7.
The event has, for the past 31 years, been known as the Volkswagen Rally and this is the first year that it will be called the Algoa National Rally.
The rally is expected to attract more than 40 good entries, which is said to be one of the most entries to a national rally in South Africa. Locals, such as Nick Davidson from the national side, AC Potgieter (current championship leader) and Guy Bottrell, will also be taking part in the rally.
On Friday, July 6, the ceremonial starts at 13:40, the Jachtvlakte stage from 14:00 to 17:00, Baywest stage one at 18:00 and the Baywest stage two at 20:00.
On Saturday, July 7, the event starts at 07:30, Longmore Forest stage from 08:00 to 15:00 and the Baywest stage at 15:20.
