A 53-year-old man was fatally shot at his place of work on Thursday morning, October 10. According to an anonymous source, it was an Algoa Bus company staff member.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Algoa Park is urgently seeking the public’s assistance in tracing the suspect or suspects involved in this heinous crime.
Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg said, “The incident occurred at approximately 07:00 on Perl Road, Korsten. According to information gathered at the scene, the deceased had just arrived at his workplace when multiple gunshots were heard in the parking lot.
A security guard on duty immediately activated his panic alarm but did not witness the shooting. Once the area was quiet, the guard discovered the victim with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.”
The anonymous source who is close to the deceased revealed that the victim had recently been appointed to a new managerial role at the bus company.
The motive behind the shooting and the identities of the suspects remain unknown. SAPS has launched a murder investigation and is appealing to anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects to come forward.
